DOWNTOWN. This Sacramento history museum was founded in 1998 and functioned primarily as an educational tool. In 2003, Maria Shriver began active work to expand the museum to include “California’s Remarkable Women.” The California Museum for History, Women and the Arts continues to grow, and one of its most popular exhibits is the California Hall of Fame, a diverse permanent exhibit that showcases the state's prominent citizens. With exhibits that present the state’s diverse population, this uniquely Californian museum in Sacramento illustrates the state's art, culture and progress.
