2. American River Raft Rentals

Worst customer "service" ever!
1) they won't reserve a kayak in advance - 1st come, 1st served. 2) they don't rent 2 person kayaks even though their website & signage indicates they are available for $50 3) upon arrival we had to rent 2 singles at $77 including all the junk fees they throw on top of the price. Bait & switch??? 4) they don't help you carry the heavy kayaks down a long dirt road, across the bike trail and onto a beach area even though their raft truck passes you on the way to the launch site. They also charge you $2 for a launch fee. There must have been 10 young men just standing around while we trudged down the road stopping frequently to rest our hands. No one offered to help us. 5) after we arrived at River Bend park, no one was there to pick us up. The guys in two trucks were sitting in the parking lot (another long walk) just talking while we waited in the blazing sun!!! 6) there was a long line out front (which I cut through) when we got back to the store to return a receipt for the boats & get my driver's license back, but if I wouldn't have been so bold I'd have waited through a long line. I won't EVER rent from them again.
