5. Garbeau's Dinner Theatre

Garbeau's was recently purchased by a 25 year old young man who has moved quickly to expand the venue (covered in the Sac Bee, Business Journal, and even the Wall Street Journal). The dinner theater is still there on the weekends, but the new French Quarter Nights are amazing. Chef Charles Brown is a native of New Orleans and has a full menu of Creole food (including jambalaya, gumbo, bison burgers, Cajun beans and rice, etc.). On the stage, my favorite Blues band, Sacramento Blues Revue, turns the place into a new hot spot in town. The people who love dinner theater still have their fun on the weekend. The people who are into great live Blues and have ignored the place should stop and take a second look. The Bee article also mentions they're doing comedy starting in September.

A wonderful place for a great dinner and show at a reasonable price.
