BRACKENRIDGE PARK.   From a small collection of animals deeded to the city by Col. George W. Brackenridge in 1914, the San Antonio Zoo has evolved into a major attraction featuring over 750 species and 3,500 animals. Don't miss Africa Live!, a safari experience that brings the people, plants, and animals of Africa to life. Ornithologically-inclined visitors will find one of the world's largest collections of birds at the Hixon Bird House.
