5. San Antonio New World Wine & Food Festival

The Buzz -- If fast food and the same old Tex-Mex are your idea of Texas's finest edible offerings, then this festival will open your eyes – and tastebuds. Chefs and vintners from Texas to as far south as Argentina descend on San Antonio for six days to wine and dine attendees. Your palate will be tempted by a range of cuisines, and the many wine seminars and tastings will quench your thirst for the grape. Totally Tejas, which closes the festival, features family-friendly live entertainment and storytelling. Events are held at a variety of restaurants and venues throughout the city.
