KING WILLIAM DISTRICT.
Considered one of the city's most scenic outdoor dining spots, Guenther House was once home to the founder of the Pioneer flourmill. Even today, the restaurant uses only Pioneer flour in its luscious strawberry waffles and homemade breads and biscuits. A hearty, traditional breakfast is served at any hour, but light fare like sandwiches and salads is also available. An onsite museum educates visitors about the flourmill and the Guenther family.

Great Start To The Day !!!
The Guenther House was an exceptional way to start our day. We had the option of sitting either indoors or out ( we opted for inside ) and on the way passed all sorts of delectable pastries including Black Cherry Streudel, Apple Streudel, Cinnamon Rolls etc. all for breakfast or " take out " which we did.
My wife ordered the Sweet Cream Pancackes made with the Pioneer Flour from the mill and they were excellent..what a unique taste. I decided to have their signature breakfast with 2 3" tall biscuits with sausage gravy , fruit and coffee ( $ 8.95 )..WOW...What a feast and all delicious.
Took a quick tour of the Guenther House which is above the restaurant and of course bought some SWEET CREAM Flour to take home for another taste of those great Pancakes.
Located in the King William District just about a 5 minute drive from the Marriott Riverwalk...TRY IT...IT IS A GREAT WAY TO START THE DAY IN San Antonio !!!

The location is great, but I got the breakfast burritos and found a hair in one, the pager wasn't working, so We waited like an hour to be seated, the service wasn't to good either, they were slow, but after all we went for a walk throug the river and it was nice.

My husband and I went there for the second time on our honeymoon in November of 2000. It was beautiful, romantic and quaint. The food was fabulous and the service was wonderful. The outdoor seating was comfortable and nice. My husband and I give the Guenther House 5 stars!!
