2. Asistencia Mission de San Gabriel

REDLANDS.   More properly known as "Estancia," this Spanish mission was established in 1819 by the Franciscan Fathers of Mission San Gabriel; however, the current structure wasn't built until some eleven years later. Now owned and maintained by the San Bernardino County Museum system, the mission affords glimpses of 19th-century religious life in the shadow of the San Bernardino Mountains. The mission's well landscaped grounds and enchanting chapel also make it a popular place for weddings.   (© 10Best)
