During regular museum hours, a resident artist is busy in the studio creating new works. This means you get to see the artistic process itself, instead of just the end result. The first thing you may see as you enter the Lux Art Institute is art in progress: a resident artist working in the center of a spacious white-washed pavilion. Inevitably, however, after you take in the art, the museum's green elements grab your attention. The institute, which opened in November 2007, was built with sustainable resources and energy-saving ideas, including a door like those in barns, opening to flood the space with natural light.
