With its near-perfect weather, diverse population and relaxed personality, San Diego is the ideal place for a festival. In fact, it's so well-suited to public events that there's at least one major happening every month throughout the year. Most cities have to limit their festivities to one or two seasons, but not San Diego! Within San Diego county there are celebrations of beer, mariachi music, sandcastles, art, kites, apples, ships and film. There are holiday happenings galore, from Christmas tree lighting ceremonies to Dia de los Muertos activities. Most of the city's primary districts schedule their own special festival of food and art.
