3. Bazaar Del Mundo

OLD TOWN.   A favorite of locals and tourists for decades, this colorful marketplace features several specialty shops and restaurants. Merchandise from all over the world is available, with an emphasis on goods from Mexico. Special events such as the Cinco de Mayo festival, Dias de los Muertos celebration and Festival of Lights draw big crowds to Bazaar Del Mundo every year. I live in San Diego and Bazaar del Mundo is one of my favorite places. Not only does it have great international shops, but its restaurants (mostly Mexican) are outstanding--especially Casa de Pico and Casa de Bandini! The environment is gorgeous and they often have entertainment on the main stage. Highly recommended.
