PACIFIC BEACH.   Karinya has mastered the complex blend and balance of flavors that’s the hallmark of Thai cooking. Start with soup – both tom yum and tom kah are wonderful – or fresh spring rolls. The menu features a wide variety of main dishes, but pad thai and drunken noodles are both excellent examples for folks who are unfamiliar with Thai cuisine. Tamarind-ginger fish is a sure winner; curries, stir-fries and fried rice can be prepared with your choice of chicken, beef, pork, duck, shrimp or tofu.
