2. Kono's Cafe

I do not think this place deserves a good rating. I love trying new places and food and I was very disappointed in Kono's Cafe. We waited in line for a half hour and it did not move fast at all. I gave the ambiance a 3 because the beach was right there. The food (I ordered a burrito #1 and a side of Kono Potatoes) was not good. The burrito had 4 cups of eggs, a sprinkle of cheese, 1/2tsp of salsa and 1 Jimmy Dean sausage cut up. There was so much egg I couldn't even enjoy it. The potatoes looked great and would have tasted good if half of them weren't hard as rocks. As far as service it was very unfriendly and the staff are not the least bit helpful or accommodating. They basically bring you your food and leave you for dead. I had to cut the line and hunt down someone inside to get a piece of foil to wrap up my piles of eggs I couldn't finish. As far as value goes that is the only aspect I gave a decent rating. You get piles and piles of eggs for your buck. If you like good food, service, and atmosphere, then choose another place.

We always make it a point to come here everytime we're in San Diego. Can't really ask for anything more than GREAT FOOD, GREAT LOCATION, GREAT PRICE, and GREAT STAFF all wrapped up in one! We've recommended Kono's time and time again to our fellow travelers.
