9. Sushi Groove

RUSSIAN HILL.   Warmly colored and punctuated with modern touches, this hip Japanese restaurant has a café-like atmosphere. Crowds of stylish folks often frequent it for reasonably priced, creative sushi that places a premium on freshness. Different specials are offered nightly, but toro (a fatty, pricey tuna) and octopus are highly recommended.
