5. Tonga Room Hurricane Restaurant & Bar

A must place to visit in downtown San Francisco.

Thoroughly enjoyed dinner and the music and dancing. I'm very, very happy to find a place that has in my opinion preserved the ambiance of my grandparent's heyday (the 40's and 50's). Keep it up! The vocalist on Feb 13, 2004 was excellent. The price was what I expected so I am not agast, but dollar for dollar there are better values. One night for two, with a Tonga Room dinner and parking will cost me about the same as a 7 day cruise to Mexico for one. Go ahead, call me cheap, but I'll still be back.

A great room in a truly great hotel! The simulated storm was the cutting edge of technology way back when it was introduced. Still very effective. This spot is memorable so don't miss it if you're in "the City".
