OLD SAN JUAN.   Few bars can claim to put the fun in funky the way that El Batey does: a dive bar decorated with graffiti and an old wooden bar that looks like it has seen better days, with its jukebox playing non-stop tunes from original 45s of the '60s and '70s. Thanks for putting me straight regarding Rum. Went and bought a bottle of Ron del Barrilito 3 stars. Outstanding stuff. Great bar. If you're really unlucky, we'll be back!

El Batey is the best bar I have ever set foot in. The bartender, Phillip, makes a wonderful Planters Punch. Best juke box in the world.
