CONDADO.
If you are out for a stroll and looking for a refreshing afternoon stop or if you've been dancing until your feet are ready to give out, stop in to Via Appia. A true sidewalk cafe that offers deli-style sandwiches, pizzas baked on site, simple pastas and a staggering variety of side dishes, it makes an excellent lunch or late night dining spot. Wash it all down with a beer or pitcher of sangria and watch the world go by.

try the flan, skip the pizza
via appia seems to be three spaces serving the same menu: a sidewalk cafe, a loud sports bar and a mom and pop grocery store with tables. the schizo venue does nothing for the rather limited, traditional and not very tasty food.
service is island ok, slow but friendly.
i am not sure why anyone would recommend the pizza here. it may be good compared with other san juan pizza but is more like round table than authentic italian pizza or east coast pizza.
the portobello mushrooms were tasty and garlicky.
however, the homemade flan was incredible. rich and almost cheesy, the flavors were rich, the texture smooth and the total effect just about perfect

I love this place it has been in Condado forever. This place has the best pizza in the world. And the Sangria!! I just love the place, I don’t think I will go to another pizzeria in my life, my recommendation for the best place is Via Appia.
