OLD SAN JUAN.   Pretty people and portraits by Botero are a feast for the eyes at the massive mahogany bar and in the dining area of Barú, but the food is a treat for the other senses. Mahi ceviches waft a citrus perfume, and horseradish mashed potatoes pleasantly sting the palate as do the tangy chicken kabobs in green curry. Portions are lavishly spread out on oversized plates delivered by servers who wend their way through the oft-crowded room.   (© 10Best)

This is a "with it" restaurant with great food and friendly service. It is sort of "Tapas" (sharing is encouraged) without the problem that you have to go out for a pizza after having tapas. The staff is friendly and helpful. Reservations are advisable if you don't want to wait an hour for a table. Bar is filled with beautiful people. Atmosphere is a little loud for some North Americans.
