8. Soho

I just visited Soho last night for the first time to see ALO. My friend was not on the will call ticket list despite the fact she had purchased the tickets online a month prior. We were treated very rudely by both the manager and owner, and they maintained it was the "ticket company's fault," not theirs. After running around and making phone calls (we do not live in Santa Barbara), my friend got a confirmation number and, when we walked back to present it to the owner, she said that it was worthless. We finally were granted access after I proposed that they allow my friend to access her bank account from their office computer and the owner reluctantly agreed. I got into a confrontation with the manager after he became sarcastic and rude towards us. He did finally apologize and purchased our first round of drinks. We made nice and ended up enjoying the evening only because the band was fantastic. The food and drink service both at tables and the bar is extremely slow and we had to ask for basic things like napkins, which were not brought to us with our food. The atmosphere, food, and layout of Soho are great; unfortunately, I probably will not go back because of the way we were treated and the poor service.
