With charismatic chef-owner Mollie Ahlstrand at its helm, this popular establishment not only serves incredible food but offers a bit of star-gazing potential as well, thanks to celebrity regulars. Mollie's skills are showcased in homemade breads, gelati, and pastas (salmon lasagna!), although her hand is just as capable in regard to seafood and European-style pizzas. Patrons are constantly enamored of the creative food and inviting ambience, and quality always stands out as paramount. Jackets recommended for dinner.

Between the false flattery for we customers and the screaming at the waitstaff, it was hard to have a good time. Food is as good as most, but the high prices and the bad karma add up to a tense and mediocre experience.

I had dinner at Mollie´s last week. Three out of the four entrees at our table arrived cold. The deserts were very good, however. What alarmed my companions and I was the contradiction in Mollie´s demeanor: she would curse and demean her waitors and then shamelessly flatter her customers!...In turn, she would then enter the dining room and lay compliments on her customers. I was told by her that I look like a model. Since I am a 50+ year old woman with average looks I questioned how sincere she was. Additionally, she told nearly every customer the same thing. Then she hurried off to the kitchen to continue yelling at her staff.

Mollie is a sunny delight that fills a restaurant with a radiance that is matched only by her cooking. I became a fan of Mollie's years ago when she presided over the kitchen of Seattle's Trattoria Carmine. I had lost touch with her until I came upon Trattoria Mollie. Little more than the name was necessary for me to realize the treats than would envelope the patrons of this fine establishment. Enjoy!
