9. State Street

SANTA BARBARA.   Santa Barbara's signature street, State is the locus of much city life and activity. At its base, on the ocean, is Stearns Wharf, and all along its length are antique stores, tourist traps, clothing boutiques, vintage clothing shops, book stores, and plenty of franchised and independent venues. You'll also run across restaurants, coffee shops, cafes, and clubs. Many of them boast sidewalk seating, so even if you have to break from shopping, you can scout out the next block from your seat or at least keep an eye on what's going on.   (© 10Best)
