5. Peyton Wright Gallery

Located in the regal and historic Spiegelberg house downtown, Peyton Wright has built its reputation on religious art and icons. Among the the historic collections are 17th-19th century Spanish Colonial paintings and objects, 18th and 19th century New Mexican Bultos and Cristos and European and North American works from the 17th-20th centuries. The modern collection features the estates of Raymond Jonson, William Lumpkins, and Herbert Bayer, and includes work by many other important American Modernists, such as Emil Bisttram, Jan Matulka, and Paul Burlin.   (© 10Best)
