Bataan Memorial Museum

The Bataan Memorial Museum, housed in an old armory building, was opened as a tribute to New Mexicans who have served in the military. The museum houses some 30,000 items, from World War I to the more recent Desert Storm, with an emphasis on the Bataan veterans who fought the Japanese in the Philippines in 1942.

El Rancho de las Golondrinas

Georgia O'Keeffe Museum

This museum, founded in 1997 and the only one in the country devoted entirely to the work of a female artist, includes more than 100 pieces by the world renowned artist, including paintings, drawings and sculptures.

Institute of American Indian Arts Museum

This museum, curated by Native Americans, displays a large array of artwork by artists who have attended or taught at the College of Santa Fe's Institute of American Indian Arts. The museum, whose mission is "Indian art through Indian eyes," houses some 6,500 pieces by 3,000 different artists.

Museum of Fine Arts

Built in 1917, this is the oldest art museum in New Mexico. The permanent collection here has 8,000 works of art that represent the Taos school of artists as well as other American artists. Besides the permanent collection, you will find 12 shows a year that showcase different regional artists.

Museum of Indian Arts and Culture

The Museum of Indian Arts and Culture, founded in 1987, is home to the well-known "Here, Now and Always" exhibit which features some 1300 pieces of American Indian arts, culture and history, as well as multimedia presentations. The museum is known for its collection of pottery, basketry, weaving and jewelry.

Museum of International Folk Art

Palace of the Governors

Built by Governor Pedro de Peralta in 1619, the Palace of the Governors is the oldest continuously used public building in the United States.
