7. Mission Santa Inés

SOLVANG.   The 19th Franciscan mission established along the California coast enjoys, perhaps, the most enchanting view of all, overlooking the Santa Ynez River Valley and the distant Santa Ynez and San Rafael Mountains. The mission, today, continues to hold regular services and ceremonies, and its museum houses a unique collection of artwork, documents, and vestments. In an effort to recapture the mission's original beauty, art conservationists are working to preserve Santa Inés's history and artifacts.   (© 10Best)
