8. Sugar and Spice Family Restaurant

We make Sugar & Spice a "must visit" on our yearly trek to Sarasota. For the last 3 or so years we have noticed the quality of the food & the service has changed - but it was nothing like this year. Some of the employees were standing outside when we arrived - so they decided to walk in ahead of us - The so called "gentleman" host never offered to hold the door for us to enter, instead walking in ahead of us. The food was lousy!! I always get the chocolate cake & it was very dry. DISAPPOINTING!!! - Very sad to know that we will no longer make this restaurant as one of our annual "must visit" locations.

This was the first time that my family and I visited this restaurant. We were very pleasantly surprised!! We liked that there was Christian music playing. We were seated right away. The lady that took our order was as sweet as she could be. She was really good with my two grandchildren, which meant a lot to me. The order came quickly and the food was delicious. The prices here are wonderful; the bathrooms were very clean and fully supplied. We come from Tampa Fla., and we will definitely be back here again and again.This place is the best!

Lovely family restaurant about 10 miles from the gulf beaches, well worth the journey. We always make time during our visit for one meal there. Food is excellent,service is friendly and efficient. Great portions and very well priced. The restaurant is nicely laid out and kept to a high standard. Be sure to try the chocolate cream pie!
