9. Venus de Milo

HISTORIC DISTRICT.   Within one of Savannah's ubiquitous historic structures, this oft-frequented wine bar is a perennial favorite. An impressive wooden bar, brick walls and arches, and a wealth of lush fabrics impart Old World style to Venus, and patrons enjoy it as a place to get dressed up a bit and meet a cultured, fun-loving crowd. Offering more than 150 wines, the bar also makes a good number of them available by the glass and half-bottle. Terrific martinis are also part of the mix, as is a courtyard.
