The martinis at Jazz'd come in a kaleidoscopic range of colors and flavors. HISTORIC DISTRICT. This happening night spot occupies the basement of the historic Kress building, but its funky, industrial appeal is decidedly modern. A long metallic bar, black tabletops, red-seated chairs, and vibrant paintings accent the room, and a separate lounge features dark leather couches. An extensive small plates menu ($5-12 each) draws from a wide variety of culinary traditions, and you'll want to try a variety to get the full effect. Opt for the baked cheese terra cotta plate with its accompaniments of roasted garlic, sliced green apples, and French bread, or sample Cuban-rubbed beef satays with jalapeno glaze. Wines (by the bottle or glass), ports, and over twenty martinis grace the drinks menu. Live music is a nice addition from Wednesday till Sunday. (© 10Best) Jazz’d Tapas Bar transforms an old five-and-dime just off downtown’s Broughton Street. The professional crowd celebrates here Wednesday through Sunday when modern-day crooners and upbeat musicians deliver Sinatra-infused tunes. Best on menu: Tapas for Two, which includes a soup or salad course, four tapas, two desserts, and nonalcoholic beverages. Our picks include she-crab stew and barbecued shrimp and grits.
