13. John B. Rourke

There are few clothing stores that I really like but John B Rourke is definitely one of the best there is. If you like a really conservative tie, well you found the place. I walked around Macy's at Lenox Mall in Atlanta for an hour looking for a tie once. Never found one. Why? Because I hate a flashy colorful tie. But, I walk into Rourke's and spot 10 immediately. I've lived all over the State of Georgia, including Atlanta. But, many times I simply waited until I could get down to Savannah before I do my clothes shopping. By the way, I really like the Vineyard Vines Clothing they started selling; the only place in Savannah that is smart enough to carry this line of clothes. The service is excellent and it's just a top notch men's store located in Savannah, and in my opinion it's the best in Georgia.

I bought a suit from J. B. Rourke when I lived in Savannah in the late 1980's. I finally retired the suit yesterday, when I replaced it with one that, despite its high price, doesn't seem as well made. It's hard to find this quality in a medium-sized city these days. I am pleased that John B. Rourke is still around (although it seems to have moved from the historic district to the area around one of the malls)
