9. Taliesin West

NORTH SCOTTSDALE.   Now a National Historic Landmark, this Frank LLoyd Wright-designed site is the mecca of great architecture in Arizona. Located on 600 acres of Sonoran desert, the artistic genius that is shown at the Taliesin West is incomparable to any other Scottsdale activities. The working campus offers daily tours of this former winter home (which is made of stone and desert sand), and it is also home to a number of programs for undergraduate and graduate studies.   (© 10Best)

Touring the residence of an architectural genius was invigorating. The guides provide interesting facts and help make the experience enjoyable. It is maddening not being able to venture off and see more. The environment is so incredible you just want to curl up and visit with Mr. Wright. This is a great way to pretend you live in such a wonderful place.
