A nightlife mainstay, this club consistently draws a crowd thanks to ridiculously cheap drink specials (75¢ beers, anyone?) and two dance floors that cater to the clientele's differing tastes. Surrounded by three bars, the primary dance floor attracts the lion's share of clubgoers with mainstream rock and pop. When you need a breather, ascend to the loft area overlooking the action. Alternately, get your angst on in Elbo Room, the smaller of the two floors, where '80s New Wave and old-school hip-hop get things shaking.

Axis sports a shimmering bar that connects the patio to a comfortable, couch-laden interior. Upstairs, the inventively lit UV Room glows blue. When you're ready to crank it up a notch, wend your way to Radius, where pop, Latin, and techno beats bring the dance floor to life. For a special night out, reserve the VIP Amber Room, which features flowers and twigs captured in a glossy, floating amber bar.

NORTH SCOTTSDALE. This multi-faceted establishment boasts two bars, a restaurant, and live music, and it even morphs into a dance club after 10pm. Part of a growing trend of supper clubs, it invites folks to arrive for a fashionably late dinner and then hit the dance floor afterwards. House band Envy gets people moving when they play; the rest of the time, a mixture of R&B and Top 40 suffices. If you wear yourself out, chill on the patio with a glass of wine – there are over 200 varieties from which to choose.

OLD TOWN. With four bars in one club, Myst's dance floor stays busy with uninhibited patrons. After imbibing a specialty cocktail such as an apple-infused Tartini, you'll be joining the crush, getting down to rock, electronica, and disco. The very brave even take their chances on elevated platforms. Celebrities occasionally check out Myst's scene, no doubt capitalizing on the profusion of VIP skyboxes complete with balconies and TVs. When you need a break from dancing, shoot a relaxing game of pool in the Ballroom.

OLD TOWN. A good dance club for groups with different tastes, NEXT appeals to a wide range of people. On Fridays and Saturdays, the club gets hopping with a young crowd and plenty of hip-hop beats. Depending on which night you attend, you can get down to old-school R&B, reggaeton, neo-soul, or dancehall; the variety keeps the club fresh and regulars coming back.

SCOTTSDALE. Eminently laid-back during the day, this no-frills joint transforms into a lively club in the evenings. Locals flock here daily for inexpensive drinks, a comfy heated patio, pool tables, and of course, plenty of room to dance. DJs spin on Friday and Saturday nights, and Pattie's also functions as a favorite site for get-togethers and special events. The absence of a cover charge adds considerably to the appeal.

NORTH SCOTTSDALE. A great combination of club and lounge, Buzz offers options for indecisive partiers. The house DJ spins smooth R&B, pop, rock, and an energetic mix spanning disco to hip-hop, while a 12,000-square-foot dance floor tempts patrons with rhythm to get moving. Clubbers with two left feet may wish to seek amnesty in the second-level Rat Pack Lounge, where martinis are poured generously and a fine cigar selection beckons.
