6. Original Pancake House

Inexcusable excuse for bfast
This little dump, situated adjacent to a run down motel 6, has nothing on its shiny big sisters in various other markets. In Las Vegas, Denver, and other fine cities, the Original Pancake House not only serves great food with excellent service, they also have figured out how to install and operate merchant machines in order to accept visa and mastercard. In Scottsdale, forget it. They've installed their own atm so they can charge you a fee to pay cash. Get it? They charge YOU a cash fee instead of absorbing the fee that other restaurants willingly do. In Scottsdale, you also find a very poor service attitude, perpetuated in part by a wait staff that has been there forever and who now think they are entitled to tips without providing the service. Seating is horrible as you are almost always stuck sitting right next to some fat slob whose elbow keeps hitting yours. In Scottsdale, I've opted for Butterworth's as a most acceptable substitute for the excellent food and service to which I became accustomed from The Old Fashioned Pancake House in other cities.

Great pancakes, Omelettes and everything. I dare you to get on your cellphone while in the building.. Or even more funny, whip out a credit card at the register! They are the "pancake Nazis." We go just for the entertainment of them telling people to be quiet or get off their phone. Great restaurant overall..
