DOWNTOWN.   Relaxation and fun are everyday occurrences at this laid-back restaurant and sports bar, which offers everything from live music to a game room and dozens of TVs. The menu, a delight of pub fare, features burgers, salads, soups, and hot and cold sandwiches. More substantial entrees include prime rib, fajitas, barbecued ribs, and grilled chicken. Daily beer specials are a boon to frequent customers, and happy hour offers good deals too. Plus, if you're a karaoke fan, Whistles is one of the best places around to hone your skills.   (© 10Best)

Whistles is OK in my book. A bar where you can play the interactive trivia and watch a game. A game room and a dining room round out the place. The food is OK --nothing special here. I go about once a year and then I have my fill. A 2 out of 5.

This place is awesome! Thursday is kareoke night and it's by far the MOST CROWDED PLACE IN SCRANTON. Go there and laugh at bad singers and listen to some decent weekly appearances. They also have some good bands that come here, but there's only a little dance floor... so it's more of a laid back place where you can sit with a beer, get away from the noise in the back room if you like, but also meet lots of people. Typically a lot of young people, but not JUST young people, anyone from 21-70 I've seen every time I've gone.
