SCRANTON.
You wouldn't be able to discern it from the name alone, but Russell's serves Italian food – and some of the best in the area, according to local opinion. A tasteful, Victorian-styled interior welcomes folks, who then settle in for a host of dishes inspired by both the northern and southern regions of Italy. Seafood is also a strength, as are abundant portions of pastas and homemade sauces. A good wine list promises a complement to any meal.

i was in the mood for a new place i wasnt in yet so i went there i will say the place is nice and the food is second to no one else i didnt care that i left a tip cash and was also gharged close to the same amount on the card as i looked at my account statment the next day if a place automatically charges a tip to a card then the place should tell the customer that up front not a problem i was told it would be fixed at a later date if you dont watch your account you would have laft a 39 dollar tip that night not 20 like i thought so bring cash or dont leave any in a tip with a card they will take on dont worry be happy

It is so sad that this day in age people harbor such horrible feelings about one evening. I have also worked in a restaurant and frequented some of the greatest restaurants in the world (not just on the east coast of America). Usually you rate a restaurant on the overall dining experience. Since the previous responder cancelled her entree, because her well behaved child dining in an upstairs dining room on a Saturday nite was treated like a "pariah", she can not accurately rate this restaurant. I have eaten at this restaurant for 10 of the 21 years they are open and we love the food. We often refer to it as the"cheers" of Scranton. If I have learned anything from the prior review it would be- how silly some people can be.

In 11 years of working in restaurants and over 30 dining in some of the best places on the East coast, I have to say that our meal at Russell's was the worst I have experienced.... ever. We canceled our entrees because the wait became unbearable. We had a reservation and were treated like pariahs because we brought a child (who has eaten in restaurants his entire life and is extremely well-behaved). Our waiter refused to send the manager upstairs to see us and became belligerent when we expressed our displeasure with the lack of service and slow kitchen. We will ever return and tell everyone we know about our experience at this abysmal "restaurant". I would give it 0 stars if I could.
