DOWNTOWN.   Intimate, romantic, and adorned with Renaissance artwork, Assaggio brings you the best of Italy without your ever having to leave Seattle! Owned and managed by Mauro Golmarvi, the restaurant guarantees diners the best Italian fare. The menu offers a range of pasta, chicken, veal, and seafood entrees, but must-try dishes include pappardella bosciaola (pasta flavored with mushrooms, Marsala, and Barolo wine) and agnello osso buco, the traditional favorite made with lamb instead of veal. Marco's frequent trips to Italy also ensure that a wealth of Italian wines are available to complement any dish.   (© 10Best)

Catered to Every Need
The Girlfriend and myself just recently came back from seattle as we were there to watch the Broadway Musical "RENT" We were recommended by our hotel "Fairmont Olympic" that this restaurant was centrally located, had great food and catered to individual dietary needs. This couldn't have been mroe accurate. Myself as a Vegan made sure to call ahead and ask if they could create something for me as the menu didn't have a ton of visible vegetarian options. The hostess had the head waiter come out and he gave me a ton of options and reassured me that they could prepare amazing dishes that would meet my dietary needs. Their food was great and the atmosphere very comforting, It was a little cold so bring a overcoat if you go on a cloudy day. The appies were reasonably priced and the main dishes fabulous, and full of flavour, my meal wasn't even on the menu and the girlfriends was a mix of two dishes that came out beautifully, they really do enjoy creating new things. Their dessert was amazing as well, We ordered the lemon sorbet and it came with a huge frozen hollowed out lemon with the sorbet inside, Very cool. I would definately recommend this place to meat lovers and vegetarians alike. Their courteous staff and attentive service was made the experience unforgettable.
