About 10Best's Seattle Attractions & Activities Selections:
Surrounded by mountains and lakes, Seattle offers many scenic parks and attractions. Its location is conducive to boating and water sports, and a handful of attractions focuses on the city's maritime activity. Travelers may visit the Chittenham Locks, where ships travel from the Puget Sound to Lake Washington and Lake Union, or learn about the creatures that live in nearby waters at the Seattle Aquarium. For views of mountains, glaciers and waterfalls, go to Mount Rainier National Park, where you may hike, camp or picnic. On rainy days – of which Seattle has its share – museums are a popular choice. State-of-the-art technology and design enhance the Seattle Art Museum Downtown, known for its extensive collections of African and Native American art. Another interesting option, Experience Music Project captures the city's passion for rock with numerous posters, recordings and artifacts connected to famous musicians.

My husband and I heard about Savor Seattle Food Tours from a friend who raved about their tour of Pike Place Market. So while we were in town for the weekend, we took their word for it and signed up. That was the BEST thing we did in Seattle! I still can't stop talking about it. We got these great little audio earpieces, so we could hear above all the noise of the market and never had to worry about standing next to the guide in order to hear. We visited 11 different tasting stops, tried so many tasty foods that Seattle is well-known for, and got to meet the market's characters up close and personal. We left the tour feeling STUFFED! What a great value for $39.00. Did I mention we got wine at the end? Our guide said that Savor Seattle is a new company as of last summer, but they are launching a new food tour of another area of town this Spring. I can't wait to come back to Seattle to try that one too!

Great place to bring kids from birth to age 10! The museum has a hands-on, informal approach to learning through play. Kids can create art in the art studio, pretend to be a chef in The Neighborhood, travel to exotic locales in Global Village, play in a rock band or step into a video game in Mindscape, camp on a mountain, or see one of the many traveling exhibits (two each year!) At the Museum, they can do anything their imagination dreams up!
