Legend has it that this was a reproduction of the palace belonging to Pilatos (Pontius Pilate, the Roman proconsul who sentenced Jesus to death by crucifixion). Built in 1500 AD, following Don Fadrique Enriquez de Ribera's visit to the Holy Land. Lavish on all counts, the main patio is Renaissance style. There is also an extraordinary collection of sculpture, as well as 16th and 19th century paintings.
