This modern church is noted for "Dolorosa de Sevilla" (the Suffering One of Seville), a magnificent sculpture depicting the death of Jesus Christ. The statue was completed in 1654 by Felipe Morales Nieto. Good Friday processional is also of particular note. Services: Sun 10:30am, 12:30pm, 8pm; Mon-Fri 9am, 8pm, 8:30pm; Sat 9am, 9pm

The world's third largest Christian cathedral is one of Seville's most valued sites. The cathedral houses a large collection of Gothic and Baroque paintings and sculptures. Cited in the Guinness Book of Records as having a larger space than any other in the world.

Built in the 17th century, this lovely church has quite a few noteworthy statues by sculptor Pedro Roldán. The most prominent sculpture housed here is the representation of the Burial of Christ. Excellent example of Spanish religious architecture. Services: Sun 1:30pm, Mon-Fri 7pm, Sat 6:30pm

This church dates back to the latter half of the 14th century. The beautiful architecture has been well preserved, as have the timeless paintings in the sanctuary. Exemplary site for a walking tour of religious architecture and historic pieces. Services: Sun 11am, noon, 1pm; Mon-Fri 9:30am, 8pm

This 14th century church houses several notable sculptures. Among them are a statue of the resurrected Jesus Christ and a statue of Mark the Evangelist, author of the second Gospel and scribe to the Apostle Peter. Services: Sun noon, 1pm, 8pm; Mon-Fri 8pm

This ninth century church features a large collection of 18th century art. Built to rival Moorish churches in the region; restored by Leonardo de Figeuroa in 1712. Renowned for impressive collection of religious icons, silverwork and embroidery.

Perhaps Seville's best-known religious site. The cathedral's tower is known as el Giraldillo and represents the triumph of the resurrected Christ. The view from the bell tower is absolutely stunning.
