HOMER.   The Homer Society of Natural History runs the Pratt Museum, the only natural history museum on the Kenai Peninsula. Outside, visitors can stroll through the botanical garden and view more than 150 species of local flora. You can also tour an authentic homestead cabin with period furnishings and walk the nature trail that is decorated with 3-D artworks. Inside, the Pratt offers displays about local history, the Exxon Valdez oil spill, Native artifacts and the fishing industry. There is a saltwater aquarium and a "gull cam" where you can watch birds nesting on Gull Island.   (© 10Best)
