9. Swanson River Canoe Route

STERLING.   Allow yourself a full week if you plan to canoe the length of this 80-mile route. During your journey you will paddle through 40 lakes and along 46 miles of the Swanson River. Wilderness campsites—and plenty of locations for fishing and wildlife viewing—are scattered along the way.
