EDITOR REVIEW: SEWARD. Exit Glacier, the most popular part of this 580,000-acre park, is one of the only glaciers accessible by road. Venture up the Seward Highway to mile three, and then turn down the Exit Glacier Road. A ranger station provides a viewing platform, a small exhibit, and ranger-led hikes around the ice mass. From June to October more ambitious hikers can walk to the Harding Icefield, where mountain goats, moose, and marmots are frequently seen. Visitors should first stop at the Kenai Fjords National Park visitor center, located in the small boat harbor in Seward.
