This regal manor home perches high atop a woodland hall and affords magnificent views of the Wye Valley. Sections of the hall predate the 13th century. The interior is a wonderful example of stonework, painted walls, tapestries, and intricate plasterwork. The home is encircled by terraced levels of rose gardens, flowers, and shrubs.

Inside a courtyard of beautiful gardens stands the home built for Bess of Hardwick, later to be known as the Countess of Shrewsbury. It is a fine example of Elizabethan architecture and contains many outstanding tapestries and furniture dating to the 16th century. This is a National Trust Property.
