About Singapore Nightlife

Singapore Nightlife, Nightlife in Singapore

Singapore's nightlife scene has evolved over the years to become some of the best you'll find this side of Asia, from swanky bars to alternative hideaways, chilled out lounges to thumping clubs. Cheese and sleaze -- if you know where to look -- also abound. In the early evening, head to the Tanglin Village/Dempsey Hill or Rochester Park areas, where a good selection of laidback watering holes and restaurants, many al fresco, have found homes in carefully restored colonial buildings. For an edgier vibe, try the Tanjong Pagar district skirting the fringes of Chinatown, a favorite haunt of trendy media types and a generally eclectic crowd. As the evening progresses, make your way down to Clarke Quay, where there's everything from intimate jazz bars to hard-partying dance clubs, including an outpost of London's world-famous Ministry of Sound. Just looking for a classy, intimate evening by the waterfront? Empress Place, with its stylishly casual live music venues, is where you want to be.
