8. Marmalade Pantry

ORCHARD ROAD.   From a design standpoint, Marmalade Pantry is a rousing success: the circular dining room has hand-glazed tiles, chocolate leather banquettes and plenty of gleaming stainless steel. The menu is just as fabulous, with an emphasis on upscale comfort food. The chicken pot pie, for example, is far from ordinary, with sinfully creamy gravy and chunks of white chicken filling a mile-high cheddar cheese crust. Then there's a burger topped with foie gras and sun-dried tomato relish, fantastic portobello mushroom and asparagus risotto, and a swoon-worthy hot pastrami sandwich with caramelized onions and emmenthal cheese. The desserts are near legendary – try the sticky date toffee pudding, banoffi pie, or one of the best cupcakes you'll ever sink your teeth into.   (© 10Best)
