7. Orchard Road

ORCHARD ROAD.   This is Singapore's main shopping drag, with high-street fashion, upscale boutiques and quirky local labels. You will be spoiled for choice, as the malls are literally right next door to each other, and there are many, many malls. And huge stand-alone department stores, like Tang's. Plus, most of the big hotels have their own high-end shopping galleries, too. Along Orchard Road itself you'll find Plaza Singapura, Centrepoint, Ngee Ann City, Takashimaya, Delfi Orchard, Paragon, The Heeren, Wisma Atria and several others. If you venture a block or two off Orchard, you'll run into even more, such as DFS Galleria Scottswalk, Far East Plaza and Tanglin Shopping Centre. To make things even more pleasant, air-conditioned underground walkways run most of the length of Orchard Road -- a brilliant innovation that makes it possible to shop at numerous malls without ever stepping foot outside in the heat!   (© 10Best)
