SOUTH PADRE ISLAND.   Upscale but still in keeping with South Padre's unspoken "keep it casual" credo, Sea Ranch offers breathtaking water views, patio dining, and a smartly appointed dining room adorned with original artwork. The kitchen serves some of the island's top fish and seafood dishes, from fresh-caught red snapper (the house special) prepared any way you like to golden-fried grouper, fried Laguna Madre oysters, and Gulf Coast shrimp. Reservations are suggested.   (© 10Best)

At this bait shop turned restaurant order the Seafood Botana. It comes with enough fried shrimp, oysters, and fish filets to feed a small army. Like most restaurants on the island, they'll also cook your catch of day any way you like it. (from Southern Living)

Definitely Not Worth the Price
Went to Sea Ranch with a party of seven adults and one child on Sunday evening. We were told no wait and then proceeded to have to wait for 15 minutes while they put the "finishing touches" on our table. The wait staff was mediocre at best - slow, confused, long waits in between visits, empty water glasses, had to request a dessert menu, had to request the check. They had no local fresh caught fish but were happy to offer frozen pollock at a premium price. Our meals ranged from pretty okay oysters Rockefeller to pretty dismal broiled fish, served with a side of barely cooked carrots and squash. Don't waste your money.
