1. Yellow Dog Café

On February 16th 2008, my wife and I were deciding where to take visiting friends to lunch and we decided on Yellow Dog Cafe. We had been there before and were very impressed. I had also recently recommended your restaurant to customers I do business with that were visiting from out of town and they had reported they enjoyed their visit to the Yellow Dog. We (party of 4) arrived at 1:45, entered through the main entrance and were immediatley seated outside on the deck near the bar. Business seemed brisk, but I wouldn't describe it as very busy and there seemed to be a sufficient number of servers available. We sat there for 10 minutes and not one person had even acknowledged our presence. It became obvious that if we wanted anyone to wait on us, we would have to speak up and get someone's attention. I noticed a lady who seemed to be a manager and asked her to find someone to take our drink order. She took it on herself to do so, which was appreciated. In another 5 minutes or so, she delivered the drinks, but lost balance of the tray and dropped and broke several items. We all understood and didn't mention it to her. She quickly brought out another order. So, 15-20 minutes later, we had drinks, but still, no waiter had acknowledged us. In the mean time, we overhear a young lady, who was sitting with her date along the railing tables, ordering food from the bartender. They were obviously having problems as well and she had taken it upon herself to get some service. I had already gone out of my way to flag someone down, I wasn't going to resort to ordering from the bar. During that time, another couple arrived and I guess it must have been the king and queen of someplace because as they were being seated (and I mean before they sat in their chairs), they were being served wine and being told of the specials that day. I guess it is "good to the be the king". As you can imagine, this did not impress us. Here we were, having sat for 30 minutes and not having one visit by any employee and that newly arrived couple are being served before they're seated. Understandably, we decided to leave. We were simply astonished at the complete lack of service. There is a problem at the Yellow Dog. I've seen slow service and bad service, but NO SERVICE even after having to flag someone down ? They should be embarrassed. And yes, we were dressed appropriatley for this upscale eatery. There is no reason I can think of that we shouldn't have been served.
