DOWNTOWN. The Metropolitan Performing Arts Center, originally called the Old Clemmer Theatre, was constructed in 1915. The building is on the National List of Historic Places and, during its heyday, featured such first-runs as "Gone With the Wind" and "The Godfather." The venue was restored in 1988 and, today, continues to host some of the best ballet, classical concerts and drama in the Spokane area.
