The Spokane House Interpretive Center is located near the site of what, in 1810, was the North West Company Trading Post and the first white settlement in the area. The post changed hands several times in subsequent years and was owned by the likes of the famous Hudson Bay Company. Today, visitors can visit the Interpretive Center and learn more about the history of the fur trade in the Pacific Northwest and see several artifacts that belonged to the original Spokane House outpost, including nails, sheet metal, files and washers.
