DOWNTOWN.
The Liberty Café is situated next to Auntie's Bookstore, making it the perfect place to stop in and grab a cup of joe while you peruse the latest bestseller or a literary classic. The café serves excellent latte, mocha, breve, hot English tea and hot cocoa. At lunch, you can custom build a sandwich, sample a salad or baked potato, or give the soup of the day a shot. For those wanting a little something different, the Liberty also has international treats like curry dishes and a daily Italian special. Chances are you won't be disappointed whatever route you choose.

Do not recommend
We left hungry. The menu options are extremely limited; and considering the price, the serving sizes are very small. The atmosphere was so noisy that we could not converse with the person sitting across the table. With one exception, our entire party was served and finished eating before the one remaining individual received his order. That one delinquent order was for a vegan salad. It took about 30 minutes to prepare and consisted of only lettuce and 2 slices of sweet red pepper. It looked like the chef opened a box of Costco Organic Spring Greens and added 2 sweet red pepper slices. This restaurant is very overpriced, the service is slow, the food is unimaginative, the chef did not creatively respond to requests, and the atmosphere is distracting. I would not recommend it.

Not a bad place to grab a bite if you have lots of time to wait (my BLT took over 15 minutes to arrive), don't need much value for your buck (it's above average price) and don't mind a woefully short menu of lunch items. There's nothing magical, value-based or mouth-watering about this small cafe sitting next to a bookstore. As you can probably discern, I am frustrated that it ended up on a 10 Best list at all when there are dozens of better lunch spots around town, whether it's the atmosphere, the food or the value.
