Occupying a historic mansion built in 1790 and specializing in seafood, OC White's is a nicely appointed restaurant with a great view of the Matanzas Bay. Fresh Maryland Blue Crab Cakes are the house specialty and the shrimp, lobster, crab and homemade clam chowder are sure to please. A fine selection of steaks including deliciously prepared filet mignon appeal to patrons who do not choose seafood. The establishment offers guests a full bar with daily drink specials.

Would not return
We have tried several restaurants in St. Augustine and this was our worst experience. The wait staff was extremely slow and we were one of a very few tables in the restaurant-I can't imagine how bad the service would have been if it was busy!
The food was very bland and I had a crab dish that had loads of crab shells in it. At the end of the meal we tried to give our waitress a coupon that had been in many magazines around town ( it was one of the reasons that we decided to try the restaurant) and we were told that she couldn't accept it because it can't be used on "holidays."
We were there on Halloween....so be aware that they consider this event a major holiday!
We were staying at a local B&B and went back the next morning and told everyone there about our bad experience....I just wanted to let others know too.

Nice atmosphere
OC White's location in a 1790's coquina block building is very nice. The only restrooms, however, are on the first floor making it inconvenient if you're seated on the second floor. We also came to pity the poor wait staff having to make numerous trips up and down the stairs to and from the kitchen and the bar. This fact helped to make make drink selection, ordering a pitcher of Yuengling in order to help reduce the waiter's trips up and down the stairs. LOL My wife had shrimp marinara over linguine which although it was a smaller portion it was enough for her. I had the surf and turf with an 8 oz filet mignon done perfectly to my request and a larger than usually can be expected with such dishes lobster tail. Our waiter was very good. All in all it was our best dining experience during our three day stay in St. Augustine.
