2. RJ's American Grill

I just returned home after having lunch for the first time at RJ's. Initially, I wasn't impressed with this restaurant but that changed once I took my first bite. Some reasons for my initial skepticism were the unconventional location and overpriced menu. The restaurant is tucked away on the far end of a strip mall behind a gas station, not typical of a restaurant trying to represent an upscale dining experience with the menu prices to match. Everything on the menu was overpriced by at least 3-4 dollars. Fortunately the staff was quick and attentive, and all the food ordered at our table tasted much better than you would expect at a bar & grill. My favorite dish was the jalapeno cream cheese wantons appetizer. They were loaded with delicious filling (though some may prefer a smaller cream cheese to bite ratio), they were fried perfectly, and the sauce had a spicy citrus kick that accompanied the sweet filling very well. We also enjoyed the boneless buffalo wings and the chicken club sandwich on ciabatta. I look forward to returning and tasting more items they offer. Next visit I will take advantage of their happy hour specials to cut down the inflated cost of their menu. I would certainly recommend trying this spot if you don't mind paying a little more than you're used to at a similar establishment.
